PARADISE, MI – Dustin Dilworth of D3 Imagery is quickly becoming known for using his artistic eye to catch Michigan at her best – even when most of us are sleeping.
Dilworth headed up to Tahquamenon Falls and spent several overnight hours early Thursday capturing video of a stunning celestial show.
The time-lapse shows the massive Upper Falls, with a colorful Milky Way gliding above it. To make it even more special, Dilworth timed his trip during the annual Lyrid meteor shower, so you can see handfuls of bright lights streaking across the sky.
Dilworth shared the video with MLive readers today, and says it speaks to the importance of having places where dark night skies invite people to get a glimpse of their universe.
“I shot this to raise awareness of the importance of dark sky preservation in Michigan,” Dilworth said.
