When Harry and Markle first started dating, the media was very curious about the American actress who was dating a prince. Once the couple got engaged, however, the media’s innocent curiosity quickly turned into vicious attacks on the Markle.

Even though Markle always seemed to act very respectful and polite in public, the media would have a field day every time Markle slipped up even a little. For a while, it seemed like if Markle were to sit down without crossing her ankles, it would be front-page news the very next day.

Throughout the couple’s engagement, the media continued its attack on Markle’s character. There were rumors that Markle was feuding with Kate Middleton and Prince William. The media even divulged personal information about Markle and her family, particularly her father.

They interviewed her father and half-sister and even published a private letter that Markle wrote to her father. The media seemed relentless in its attempt to Villainize the young Duchess.

Most recently, Markle and her husband have been accused of being “fake activists” after they were spotted riding in private jets while at the same time telling others how important global conservation is and how global warming is a serious issue.

Does Meghan Markle have Hollywood entitlement issues?

According to Page Six, Markle is actually making quite the impression on her grandmother-in-law, Queen Elizabeth II and the queen is reportedly very impressed with Markle.

However, historian, David Starkey told Page Six that even though the queen does have a fondness for the Duchess of Sussex, she will never quite fit in with the royal family because Markle has “brought too much Hollywood entitlement with her.”

Starkey had also said that when it comes to Markle and Harry receiving criticism over flying in big, expensive jets while preaching the importance of eco-friendly vehicles, Markle is just acting like any other celebrity from Hollywood.

“Her hypocrisy is just the same as any other member of the Hollywood elite: they all proclaim their eco-sensitivity while flying their private jets,” Starkey had said.

Does the criticism bother Meghan Markle?

Most of the criticism that Markle receives likely does not bother her at all. The main reason for this is because she goes out of her way to ensure that she does not know about the majority of the criticism.

Markle has said in the past that she makes it a point to not read anything that is written about her online or in magazines.

However, Psychologist, Tijana Jokic has said the couple should consider reading some of the criticism that is written about them. Jokic does agree that they should steer clear of the hurtful comments that are being written about them, but some constructive criticism can actually be very beneficial to the young couple.

“Comments from the public can provide access and a voice of people which are crucial when it comes to establishing optimal life standards,” Jokic said.
