Fox News host praises CNN and MSNBC hosts after being inspired by Ellen and George W. – Yahoo Movies

Inspired by the seemingly unlikely friendship between Ellen DeGeneres and former president George W. BushFox News host Neil Cavuto took time on Tuesday to address the perceived vitriol between cable news networks and their hosts. Ellen received social media backlash after being spotted sitting next to President Bush in the owner’s suite at the Cowboys’ Monday night game, which she addressed on her show.

“I’m friends with George Bush,” Ellen said. “In fact, I’m friends with a lot of people who don’t share the same beliefs that I have.” She later added, “Just because I don’t agree with someone on everything, doesn’t mean that I’m not gonna be friends with them. When I say be kind to one another, I don’t mean only the people that think the same way that you do, I mean be kind to everyone.”

In response, a spokesman for Bush told Fox News, “ President and Mrs. Bush really enjoyed being with Ellen and Portia (de Rossi), and appreciated Ellen’s comments about respecting one another. They respect her.”

Cavuto first spoke fondly of some of his colleagues at the network, touching on their decency, integrity and devotion to fairness. He then went on to do what some may have thought impossible on Fox News: He praised MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow, along with CNN’s Don Lemon and Chris Cuomo.

“Though I don’t know them all personally, I can personally vouch for how good Rachel Maddow is to her staff, because they tell me. And how much she cares for what she does, because they tell me that too, and that’s important,” Cavuto said. “Or how funny Don Lemon can be making fun of himself. Or how even funnier Chris Cuomo can be making fun of Don.”

Cavuto then expressed his distaste for Donald Trump‘s use of the term “fake news,” while at the same time insinuating that they’re all a little fake.

“That’s why I bristle when colleagues anywhere are called fake,” Cavuto said. “No wonder we’ve all gotten to the point where we can’t seem to discern what is real. Maybe because what you see isn’t the entirety of what you get.”

Your World With Neil Cavuto airs weekdays at 4 p.m. on Fox News Channel.
