“Dancing with the Stars” revealed its new cast on “Good Morning America.” Former Trump aide Sean Spicer and ‘Bachelorette’ Hannah Brown are among those competing for the trophy.
James Van Der Beek’s family is expanding.
The “Dawson’s Creek” alum and current “Dancing With the Stars” contestant announced Monday that he and his wife, Kimberly Brook, are expecting their sixth child together.
“Thrilled beyond belief to announce that another little bundle of joy has picked us to be their family,” Van Der Beek captioned a sweet photo of his matching brood on Instagram.
He first revealed the news on “Dancing With the Stars” earlier by allowing cameras into the couple’s first ultrasound appointment. He admitted that it’s “something I NEVER thought we’d ever do” after going through several miscarriages.
“(Brook) and I have been through three of those first appointments to discover either no heartbeat, or no baby, and she wanted to share this moment,” he wrote. “Happily, for us – this time- we walked out with tears of joy.”
Van Der Beek said his family opened themselves up to help end shame surrounding miscarriage, “a word that needs a replacement” because “nobody failed to ‘carry,’ ” he said.
“We decided to put ourselves out there – not knowing what we’d find – in an effort to chip away at any senseless stigma around this experience and to encourage people who might be going through it to open themselves up to love & support from friends and family when they need it most.”
He continued: “There needs to be zero shame around it, or around giving yourself the time and space to grieve.”
Van Der Beek and Brook, who tied the knot in 2010, share daughters Olivia, 9, Annabel Leah, 5, Emilia, 3, Gwendolyn, 1, and son Joshua, 7.
